Gamertags and Usernames

Whats their tale?

By Dani

Dahip95 - poor handwriting on my part of a 5k race entry form led the finish record to label Dahip as my name in instead of “Daniel” I don’t know how the L was lost in but n as h was because of too tall an ascender and an e as a p for not having enough of a curve. This relatively simple transcription error lives on in perpetuity as my go to handle for personal accounts as my 5k PR is formally tied to it too.

Ncc1702 - when I got a PlayStation 3 for the first time during setup my brother was entering the account’s name. He was asking what username my dad had used when setting up his and I told him “ncc1701” the call sign of the USS Enterprise. My brother for one reason or another simply iterated the numbering up a digit birthing Ncc1702 as my PSN gamer-tag. Ncc1702 was forever solidified when I opted to use it for my Minecraft handle as well.

Teskham - the user name I used for my now deleted reddit account is an alternative pronunciation of Tzkekian a fictional insectoid space faring series I created for the game Shores of Hazeron. The two alternative pronunciations were used for this now mostly defunct game because they sounded and looked “alien”. I used one of them for reddit as I had surmised I would remember how to spell it and that it had no connection to any of my other usernames.

Danthemanglitcher - my first YouTube handle and now defunct/deleted YouTube channel born out of dantheman a little league nickname a coach gave me and glitcher as the channel was solely dedicated to documenting glitches I had found in the Rachet Clank video game series. This handle also was used for my steam until Ncc1702 was formally adopted.
